A career promotion nearly took this family out of CA to San Antonio, Texas. After the trauma of a potential out of state move, the family decided to double down on their home and create the primary suite of their dreams.
Without a strong architectural style to glean from, we transformed the space into a restful escape that blends the opposing design styles that she and her husband hold.
Breaking all design rules for limited naturally lit spaces, the team painted the transformed bedroom and walk-in closet deep olive green and the bathroom black bringing a restful feeling to the space. To balance the ying yang of her desire to add soft traditional touches to support her inherited heirloom artwork and husband’s want for masculine contemporary energy, we added deep warm wood finishes amongst softer nods like statement lighting, patterned textiles, and curated vintage decor.
Some of the added wants were to support the couple's holistic lifestyle-requesting large spend items such as air purifier integration, steam shower with aroma therapy integration, and low VOC and EMF blocking primer paint.
A custom walk-in closet was designed by Et Sal to integrate all of the couple's clothing and accessories. Sneaky electrical charging stations, and integrated hidden storage for high value items. The decor of the room leaned heavily into easy care wooden and linen furnishings and vintage found antiques and art such as tin prints from Scotland.
